How to Stay Confident? 🦋
I made this post about a year ago on Lemon8 and recently got a notification from someone liking it there so I went to look at it again. I did not expect to be enlightened by my own words from a year ago. This past month I’ve been really really down and have been not as confident. But I’m picking myself up again and continuing on this journey of self-love ❤️🩹✨ it’s a never-ending journey so I hope this brings encouragement to whoever needs it too.
1️⃣ Confidence is Not Based on Achievements
Confidence should not be coming from your achievements or external validation. You should be confident about yourself unconditionally. Release the notion that you can only be confident about what you are good at. A confident person can still try new things and fail. It’s the confidence that keeps them going. Find your confidence within.
2️⃣ Value Yourself
Your confidence shows the way you value yourself. We shouldn’t value ourself like how we value assets. You are a unique person in this world and no one thinks exactly like you. Value yourself through knowing your purpose. What you stand for is beautiful. Love yourself for that. Stick to your beliefs and own it.
3️⃣ Smile & Keep Going
Mental health is like going to the gym—it’s a steady progression and ongoing work. Don’t guilt yourself each time you feel down. Take the chance to re-read good affirmations and try again. There isn’t anything too serious going on in life anyway. Smile and pull through. If anything sounds too daunting, at least you look great smiling.
Affirmations can only work if you believe in them.
